The film’s domestic gross collections have reached Rs 391.55 crore, while overseas markets have contributed Rs 214.50 crore. However, Thursday’s India net collection declined by 39.1% compared with Wednesday’s Rs 28.15 crore. The film’s extended opening-week total has reached Rs 334.35 crore in India net earnings.
Tamil screenings remained the biggest contributor to Thursday’s domestic net collections, followed by Telugu, Hindi and Kannada versions.
The Tamil version collected Rs 10.75 crore from 5,883 shows on Thursday. Telugu screenings added Rs 3.60 crore across 2,085 shows, while the Hindi version earned Rs 2.40 crore from 5,095 shows. The Kannada version contributed Rs 40 lakh through 178 shows.
Tamil accounted for approximately 62.7% of the day’s India net collection. The film recorded 1,189,753 footfalls on Thursday, taking its cumulative footfalls to 22,052,867.
Tamil 2D screenings registered 32.75% overall occupancy on Day 8. Morning shows recorded 22% occupancy, followed by 30.15% in the afternoon, 38.15% in the evening and 40.69% at night.
The Telugu version recorded 30.68% overall occupancy. Morning shows registered 20.33%, while afternoon occupancy stood at 31.17%. Evening shows reached 34.17%, followed by 36.25% at night.
Hindi screenings reported 19.94% overall occupancy. Morning shows recorded 10.58%, while afternoon occupancy reached 18.92%. Evening shows registered 25.92%, followed by 24.33% at night.
Kannada screenings reported 38% occupancy, the highest among the four language versions, despite contributing the smallest net collection.
‘Jailer 2’ opened with Rs 59.70 crore on October 15. The film collected Rs 37.10 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 47.25 crore on Saturday and Rs 55.85 crore on Sunday. Monday’s collection stood at Rs 42.35 crore, while Tuesday brought in Rs 46.80 crore. Earnings subsequently declined to Rs 28.15 crore on Wednesday before reaching Rs 17.15 crore on Thursday.
The state-wise gross collection report recorded Rs 20.10 crore on Day 8. Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 7.50 crore, followed by Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with Rs 4 crore. Karnataka added Rs 3.65 crore, Kerala contributed Rs 2.20 crore, and the rest of India accounted for Rs 2.75 crore.
The film follows retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, played by Rajinikanth, whose peaceful life is disrupted when a new threat emerges from the criminal underworld. He must return to his ruthless ways to protect his family and safeguard his legacy.
The cast also features Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Yogi Babu, Vinayakan, Vidya Balan, Jackie Shroff and Shivarajkumar. Anirudh Ravichander’s music is said to be one of the film’s main highlights.
With worldwide gross collections reaching Rs 606.05 crore after eight days, ‘Jailer 2’ has maintained a substantial box office total across domestic and overseas markets, although its latest India net collection has fallen compared with the previous day.
